Less than two weeks!

I ran 6.5 today at 90%+ effort.  My lungs/legs didn’t adjust until about 4.5 miles in and then I ran harder.

I just kept thinking, “You think your legs are sore now…get used to the pain because in less than two weeks…!”  See corresponding picture.  Hint: It’s the one where I’m lying down!

I’m going to run 16 pretty hard this week and a couple “shorties”  and then oh, man…that’s that!  It’ll be time to just jog/stretch and repeat a few times until.   I’m so excited to just get running and get into it!

It’s Been A Week…

It’s been a week since I hurt my knee and I’m feel good about things so I’m gonna go for a long run.

The plan? 19 miles—on a treadmill.  O dread of dreads!

Man, I don’t like being on a treadmill for 10 minutes, let alone 2 ½ hours!  Ridiculous.

I didn’t pack the right clothes (I thought it would be warmer and I could run with a few layers/no hat).  I just bought a pair of shorts, so I could get going.

Is this post a delay tactic or penance for a long lag in my writing or just the desire to get an update in?

Just get running, Ron and think about it there.

A Good Week

56 miles this week.

Two 19 mile runs and an 18.

Rest tomorrow.

Hit my speed workout on Monday.

I’m feeling excited.  Essentially, January is over!  I’ve got five more months of training–yes it’ll get more difficult and time consuming but I’ve already got my goal so it’s just a matter of time and endurance.  Five months until I slow my workouts (for the last three weeks pre-race) and so I don’t really have much to negotiate with when my scammer comes-a-callin’ to tell me not to run or that I don’t have to go so far or fast.

No run today.

I’m dancing with my sons to Fat Boys radio on Pandora!  So Star Wars and dancing and cuddles trumps my run for the day.

Tomorrow I’m going after that 19 mile deal that I did on Monday.  I should get up at 5 am and really mess with my demons that tell me it’s not necessary.  Grrr.  Yeah!

Oh!  I WILL stretch!!

Quickie Update

Nothing Tuesday, Insanity (vigorous legs/cardio routine) yesterday and today I plan on doing a fast 10.5.

Work has me running in a different way so I may have to pull it off tonight but I do need to get the miles in.

I NEED to stretch!
